Dwayne Gott

Dwayne Gott was born on September 28, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He is the youngest of three children raised in his home. He also has a younger Sister and brother that lived in Oklahoma. He lived with his mother and father and older sisters in the Brownsville community. Dwayne developed a love for music as he studied and played instruments in junior high school. His parents encouraged him to follow his dreams in music. He decided to join a band called “Hot Ice”.that performed in school talent shows in and around the Brooklyn area. Hot Ice matured in his high school years and decided to change the band’s name to Kingdom in 1975. They became a musical sensation playing at block parties, banquets, local night clubs, hired for weddings and birthday parties. They collaborated with well-known groups like Full Force, The Force MD’s, Grand Master Flash, and Paula Bryant. The band played together for fifteen years and traveled the Tri State area they were also invited to play in South Carolina.

In 1981 at the age of twenty years old he married the love of his life Valerie Brown. They gave birth to their daughter, Tynisha Nivea Gott. Dwayne got his gospel start playing at Valerie’s family church Macedonia Church of Christ where her grandfather Bishop Ernest Brown Sr was the Pastor. After being lead by God they found a new church home in Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church in 1996. Jeffrey Lesley, one of the church band Levites heard that Dwayne Gott played the Bass and requested his participation in the music ministry. Dwayne was reluctant to answer the call as bass guitar player in the church band because of his secular past. But he said the Lord spoke to him and encouraged him saying if you can play for a group called Kingdom in the night clubs you can sure play in my house the Kingdom, to do the work of the Lord. Dwayne began to see the fruit of his labor immediately as God began to bless him in the ministry. Dwayne received several accolades playing for the Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church Choir, and then the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir under the direction of Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Bishop Hezekiah Walker is a two time Grammy Award winner and has also been nominated and winner of several other awards. Dwayne continued to be encouraged and took an active role in the music ministry. He traveled the country with Bishop Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir. His musical career was in full swing recording and performing with gospel greats such as John P. Kee ,Kim Burrell, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary , Donnie McClurkin , BB Winans , Marvin Sapp and Many other great gospel artists. Dwayne’s bass playing gifts were heard on the Grammy Award winning CD “Love is Live.”As well as some other great Bishop Walkers recordings.

Dwayne’s dedication allowed him to also help in the establishment of the Bensalem, Pennsylvania Church where he helped to lay a foundation for the music ministry with the Love Fellowship Levites. As. Dwayne continued to be encouraged working in the ministry at Church and also traveling nationally and internationally. . His dedication for the ministry continued as he was elevated to a Deacon/Trustee. As a dedicated member for Twenty two years Dwayne is still active in and faithful to his church and the building of God’s Kingdom. Bishop Hezekiah Walker encouraged his ministry with scripture assuring Dwayne that if he continued to work for Christ, The Lord would sustain him and if he took care of God’s people and the church God would bless his home. His home and family are fruitfully blessed. His daughter Tynisha Nivea Gott married a God fearing man Brandon Watts and gave birth to two loving grandsons, Jaden and Jeremy Dwayne's pride and joy, Dwayne professes that God is faithful and able. Dwayne is now working on his Second project that was blessed and ordained by God and supported by Bishop Walker and the congregation. Now “Help Me To Pray” is headed for gospel success. Dwayne is blessed and highly favored. He is a true believer in Christ Jesus, who is devoted to continuing in the Lord’s work. His work in the music ministry is believed to be a blessing to many and he is thankful for being a blessing. To God be the Glory!
